About Iron Wharf Boatyard

Picture
  • Iron Wharf boatyard was set up 40 years ago by Peter Dodds and Alan Reekie as a friendly DIY boatyard.  They both owned Thames Sailing Barges and the land they bought was a disused yard with wharf frontage onto Faversham Creek. They are still at the helm today.
  • Initially it was a haven for traditional boats, restorations and re-builds but, over the years, the boatyard has attracted every type of boat from steel and ferro cement to modern glass fibre yachts and motorboats.
  • At the same time, the boatyard has retained all its original charm and unlike many marinas and yards nowadays, positively encourages owners working on their boats and getting stuck in to DIY projects.
  • We specialise in providing the ideal venue for winter storage.
  • All the people involved in running Iron Wharf boatyard  are boat owners themselves and are always ready with help and advice.
  • There are a number of independent craftsmen with businesses within the boatyard with a range of skills to cover every requirement, should you feel your jobs are beyond you.
  • We are open 7 days a week.
  • The boatyard is locked at night but customers can be provided with a security key for personal access out of hours.
  • The boatyard also has 24 hour recorded CCTV coverage.

Location
  • Iron Wharf Boatyard is on the well buoyed and charted Faversham Creek.
  • The boatyard offers spacious boat storage ashore or mud berths.
  • Click on the 'Navigation & Info' link above to find charts and directions.

'The atmosphere at Iron Wharf Boatyard is friendly and casual - there are no strangers here, only friends you haven't yet met!'
