Lockdown allows maintenance and dry dock tidy up
We are not idle at Ironwharf Boatyard, our team has been able to carry on working, whilst being respectful of safe distances and safety. The dry dock was due to have maintenance carried out and a good clean out, so we took this quiet period to do just that. Here's some photos of what we've been up too during the lockdown.

Dry docked for a hull blacking and new anodes. She had to be positioned very carefully as she is such a long lady. She has headed to her new mooring having been stored at the yard for many years.
ONWARD - Came into dry dock here at Iron Wharf from Limehouse Marina, London. She was heavily encrusted with muscles, barnacles and limpets. There was even the odd Oyster. It took 2.5 days to scrape and pressure wash off these visitors. Then the grinding and sanding began, ready for painting. She had her epoxy touched up and then the sides repainted in Ballistic Black.

LUCA - Came to Iron Wharf from the River Lea. She is a regular cruiser and her owners Simon and Judy have worked hard to keep her well maintained. This barge was a delight to work with. She had a full clean up, then prepped and repainted. The livery was a lovely traditional cream with Manchester Red stripes. Our resident Joiner Finn Birch fitted a bespoke solar panel box with built in storage and a bench for the stern deck also with storage.
