Toby, one of our Managers mentioned the Cutty Sark as an interesting item for our readers.
There is a connection with the famous writer Robert Burns, who created a character in his Poem Tam O’Shanter’. A farmer called Tam is pursued by a scantiiy clad Nannie Dee, who was in-fact a witch. She was wearing an undergarment, which in the 18th Century was known as a Cutty-sark. The figurehead of the Tea Clipper Cutty Sark is named after Nannie Dee. What does she hold in her hand ? #boat#yard#storage#dry#dock#Kent#Swale#Medway#
